Carl Gustav Jung: ‘Retrospect’
24-page manuscript book, written out in Chinese ink with gouache illustrations on Indian Hemp Cream paper with black Hahnemuhle Bugra endpapers and white Somerset card cover, plain paper jacket. Completed in December 2024
Another treatment of my favourite essay - the final chapter of Jung’s autobiography, Memories, Dreams and Reflections. The Indian paper I have been using recently is difficult to write on, which can feel rather laboured and make the writing seem uneven. However, I find the difficulty contributed by the paper stops me from trying to writing too ‘neatly’ as I become less and less interested in the attainment of an artifical kind of perfection, but increasingly interested in a certain kind of authenticity.
