Michele Coele: ‘Frideswide: Strong Peace’

This is the first version of a book I made containing an extract from a text composed by Michele Coele, commemorating the 1000th anniversary of the massacre of the Danish population of Oxford on the site of St Frideswide’s church in 1001. The piece was performed by David Bradley and Maggie Stead at the Holywell Music Rooms in November 2002, and again the following year in Christ Church Cathedral, with Susannah York replacing Maggie Stead.
