I had undergone something of a disruption in my personal life during 2021 and came across two essays by the poet-philosopher, David Whyte, on the theme of ‘Withdrawal’ and ‘Vulnerability’ from his best-selling book Consolations. These spoke to something in my condition, while as a close friend of David’s there is no copyright problem when using his texts!
